SKILLBRIDGE: STATE OF HAWAIʻI EXECUTIVE BRANCH DEPTS.

Process for Departments Participating in SkillBridge: 

  1. Identify a position vacancy
    1. Determine if the position will offer a high probability for state employment to the service member participant upon their separation from military service. 
    2. Designate a Mentoring Site Supervisor. This individual will also serve as the primary point of contact between your department and the SkillBridge Program Coordinator. 
    3. Identify any special requirements for the position, including but not limited to, selective certification requirements, desirable qualifications, and/or special background check requirements. 
  1. Submit the following documents to the State of Hawai’i SkillBridge Coordinator by email at [email protected] 
    1. SkillBridge Request to Participate Form
    2. Official position description
    3. Training plan
  1. Manage SkillBridge Participant 
    1. Create a State of Hawaii email address.
    2. Monitor and follow training plan, including all mandatory DHRD trainings.
    3. Communicate regularly with the SkillBridge Coordinator.
  1. Conclude SkillBridge participant experience 
    1. Complete and submit final evaluation form.
