Flexible Working Hours

The State recognizes that flexible working hours can:

  • Improve productivity and efficiency through improved employee working conditions and/or increased hours of operations;
  • Help ease peak morning and afternoon traffic congestion by spreading work arrival and departure times; and
  • Accommodate employees’ work and family needs by allowing them to participate in setting their work starting and ending times, where feasible.

Check with your supervisor to find out if your worksite participates in the Flexible Working Hours Program and for more information on the guidelines.
